Romans 5:12 “Therefore, just us through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned”

When God first created man in the Garden of Eden, everything was perfect and there was no sin. Adam and Eve were perfect and whole in their soul, mind, spirit, and body. Then through their disobedience to God, sin entered the world. In God‘s love and mercy, a promise was given to Adam and Eve that God would one day send the Savior.

Genesis 3:15 tells us, “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; he shall bruise you on the head, and you shall bruise him on the heel.”

The Lord identifies Himself by many names and one of those names is Jehovah Rapha. In Hebrew, rapha means “heal”, “cure”, “restore”, or “make whole”.

Our Lord and Savior has many names: one of which is the Great Physician. Mark 2:17 “And hearing this, (see verse 16 that tells how Jesus was scorned by the scribes of the Pharisees because He ate with sinners and tax-gatherers) Jesus said to them, it is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick; I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

During Jesus’ lifetime on earth, He healed many. The Bible records how Jesus healed blindness, deafness, all manner of sickness, brought the dead back to life, and many other miracles.

The greatest miracle is when any person with an incurable disease called sin is brought to eternal life by believing in Jesus Christ for salvation.

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.”
