Volunteer

If you have a passion to serve Jesus Christ and children in your community, then we have a place for you!

Happy child

We never get our vision off of the children, and we are some of the few people that quietly labor to build the fence when there's lots of people building the clinic.

We will train you and equip you with everything you need. There is a mission field right in your backyard and on the schoolyards in your local elementary and middle schools, and we want to equip you with the skills and resources to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the children and families in your community.

CEF® is serious about taking responsibility to protect the children, the volunteers, partnering churches and the good name of Jesus Christ. All volunteers (age 18 and older) and CEF missionaries are required to undergo a national criminal background check.

Ready to Volunteer with CEF Ministry?

If God is speaking to you and leading you to partner with us in this ministry, here is how to get started:

Step 1: Read & sign a Ministry Compliance Agreement (WCA) Form online

Step 2: Complete your LiveScan with CEF (for adult volunteers). Effective January 1st, 2022 California AB506 requires all volunteers who interact with children for more than 16 hours a month or 32 hours a year to be fingerprinted/livescanned. The cost is $25. Payment needs to be made prior to appointment booking. Upon completion, please email [email protected] and the best day / time / phone number to call you for your LiveScan appointment booking. The phone call will take about 5-10 minutes. Then you will go to the designated location with the appointment confirmation at the time and location you are assigned to by the chapter admin.

VERY IMPORTANT!!! Going to a LiveScan Center without talking to our office admin first will not work because the scan result won't reach CEF's Custodian of Records at the CEF State Office.

**For Underage Volunteers, no LiveScan is required. Instead, two references are needed for this step to complete the Background Check process.
1) Pastor's Reference: http://cefsgv.org/pastor
2) Non-Relative Reference: http://cefsgv.org/non-relative

Step 3: Register and attend a one-time, 6-hour Super Seminar Workshop session, even you don't plan to teach in the club. Untrained volunteers could be a liability to the team and/or the organization.

Super Seminar Workshops are only offered 3 times a year -- on the third Saturdays of January, July and September only.

The cost is $40 per person. Use the below $40 Super Seminar Payment Button to make your payment online.

Additional Notes

For existing volunteer, LiveScan and super seminar training are required once Every Five (5) Years. Worker's Compliance Agreement (WCA) Form is signed every year. If you have been inactive for one full calendar year, please follow the new volunteer screening procedures.

CEF San Gabriel Valley Chapter is passionate about training and equipping our teachers.

Throughout the year there are several training programs readily available to help you grow spiritually in your personal walk with God and build confidence in your teaching skills to better serve in the children's ministry.
