Psalm 50:15
Have you ever experienced Difficulty, Distress, or Danger? In all circumstances, the Lord has an answer for you in His Word - the Bible. He has not left you helpless, hopeless, or hapless.
Psalm 50:15 “And call upon Me in the day of trouble; I shall rescue you, and you will honor Me.”
The invitation, and even the command, is for you to call upon the Lord. The circumstances in which you are to call upon the Lord is in the day of trouble. The promise from the Lord is that He will rescue you. And in turn, you will honor and give thanks to the Lord that He heard your cry for help. We are living in a “day of trouble”. The biggest rescue you need is to be rescued from an eternity without Christ. And the Only Rescuer is Jesus Christ our Lord who paid for your sins on the cross. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4 and John 3:16)
Perhaps you have felt the same as David who wrote this Psalm and have come to the same conclusion that God alone is your Refuge: Psalm 142:4-5 “Look and see, there is no one at my right hand; no one is concerned for me. I have no refuge; no one cares for my life. I cry to You, Lord; I say, “You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.” Or perhaps your steps have slipped and come close to stumbling and yet the Lord has lifted you up: Psalm 73:2 “But as for me, my feet came close to stumbling, my steps had almost slipped.”
The Lord Jesus admonishes and encourages us with His Word: John 16:33 “These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”
How are you to respond? Today, sunshine or shadow, let the Lord personally hear from you. He wants to hear from you and He will receive all honor and glory.
