Psalm 16:8 He Will Hold Me Fast
Psalm 16:8 I have set the LORD always (continually) before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.
Hymn: “He Will Hold Me Fast” (originally written by Ada Ruth Habershon over 100 years ago.)
“When I fear my faith will fail
Christ will hold me fast
When the tempter would prevail
He will hold me fast
I could never keep my hold
Through life's fearful path
For my love is often cold
He must hold me fast
He will hold me fast (2x)
For my Savior loves me so
He will hold me fast
Those He saves are His delight
Christ will hold me fast
Precious in His holy sight
He will hold me fast
He'll not let my soul be lost
His promises shall last
Bought by Him at such a cost
He will hold me fast (3x)
For my Savior loves me so
He will hold me fast
For my life He bled and died
Christ will hold me fast
Justice has been satisfied
He will hold me fast
Raised with Him to endless life
He will hold me fast
'Til our faith is turned to sight
When He comes at last!
He will hold me fast (2x)
For my Savior loves me so
He will hold me fast (3x)
For my Savior loves me so
He will hold me fast
Matthew 14:22-33 This passage is the account of the storm on the Sea of Galilee with Jesus walking on the water and Peter walking on the water. The disciples were in the boat on the Sea of Galilee. They were in the dark in the middle of the night in the storm. The boat was battered and tormented by the waves; for the wind was against them. It was a furious storm that came without warning and it was very frightening! Peter was able to do the impossible because his eyes were on Jesus and the waves were just as strong then. Yet, when he took his eyes off of Jesus the waves were just as strong then, but he sank. Peter called out to Jesus and Jesus mercifully pulled him up out of the water. We may not ever be in a physical storm in a boat on the sea. Nevertheless, we all experience storms in our lives. These storms could be physical, internal, or external or all of the above. Yet God has promised that He will be with us through the storm just like it says in Psalm 16:8 and in this treasured hymn.
