Seeing Through The Eyes of Faith
1 Peter 1:8 “and though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory.”
What would it take for you to love someone you have never seen?
The disciples were privileged to see Jesus in the flesh and walk with Him and minister with Him.
What about those who put their faith in Jesus, having never seen Him in the flesh?
What was their faith like?
After the resurrected Jesus returned to Heaven, having been seen by more than 500 people, He sent the Holy Spirit just as He had promised.
We, like the first generation of those who did not see Jesus in the flesh, are blessed.
John 20:29b “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
Years ago, I had the distinct privilege of working with visually impaired/blind preschool students.
Their ability to navigate the world astonished me.
Their other senses were heightened.
Some even had amazing echolocation.
Is faith in Jesus like this?
By faith, we navigate this rugged world holding His hand.
Having never seen Him, we love Him.
Until our faith is turned to sight, we keep our trust in the Lord day by day and moment by moment.
May the grace and love of the Lord touch your heart.
If you have never put your complete trust in the Lord for forgiveness of sin and salvation, may today be that day.
Acts 16:31 “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.”
