God Protects His People 4

Lesson 4: God humbles Haman
Big Idea: God can give you grace to be humble.
Proverbs 6:16-19 lists seven things God hates. “A proud look” is listed first. God hates pride and its fruits. Some say pride is the root of all sin—thinking we somehow know better than God or thinking we are better than others. A perfect example of pride is Haman, who delighted so much in himself, his wealth, and his accomplishments that it became his downfall. While pride may seem like a very adult concept, children need to know about pride and its counterpart, humility. God loves a humble heart and He gives grace. The best example of this is Jesus, who humbled Himself to be obedient to death on a cross.
Scripture: Esther 5:1—6:14
Memory Verse: “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
