God: Creator King Lesson 5
Lesson 5: The King Saves!
Big Idea: God, who is just, can save you from sin.
Children will learn that God, who is just, can save them from sin. God had to punish sin. The evil of fallen mankind that was seen in Cain’s murder of Abel was only the beginning of man’s depravity. The people on Earth had become so violent the whole Earth was corrupted. God’s judgment was imminent. The story of the flood shows God takes sin very seriously but it also reveals how loving and gracious God is. He made a way of salvation.
God showed His grace to Noah, Noah’s family and all of Creation. Noah walked with, listened to and obeyed God. The saved children will learn that the Holy Spirit lives in them to help them listen and obey His Word. In this Evangelistic Narrative Bible lesson the children will be shown God’s salvation plan. God saved Noah, his family and the animals from the flood and He has made a way for them to be saved from something far worse—the punishment of their sin.
Scripture: Genesis 6—8; 9:12-17; 2 Peter 2:5
Memory Verse: "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." - Ephesians 2:8-9 ESV
