Word Up! Follow God!
To understand ourselves, sometimes we need to look at the past. To appreciate God’s choice of David we have to take a step back in history and understand the world into which David was born. David was most likely born sometime during
the reign of Saul, perhaps shortly after Saul became king. David was born into an Israel that was demanding to be like everyone else. They had forgotten that part of their purpose was to be a light to the nations and to show their God is Lord. In demanding to be like everyone else, they had forgotten the point of their existence was to be very unlike everyone else. This is still true of God’s people today. We are called to be different and to show the greatness of God. In this lesson, children are encourage to live in a way that brings glory to God.
