Jesus: God Who Came to Earth 1
Lesson 1: The Savior is Born!
Big Idea: Jesus is the Savior God promised to send.
Scripture: Matthew 1:19-25; Luke 1:26-38; Luke 2:1-20
Memory Verse: “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” -Luke 2:11 ESV
Word Up!: God keeps His promises!
In this lesson, we see God‘s faithfulness in keeping His promise to send the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. That promise was first given to Adam and Eve when they sinned in the Garden of Eden. Ever since then, people had been waiting for the promise of the Savior.
In our previous series on The Patriarchs, we learned how God is faithful and kept His promises to Abraham that he would be the father of many nations. Not only that, Jesus Christ would come from the lineage of Abraham who is known as the father of faith.
God Almighty is the One who gave the promise and fulfilled it. What seemed impossible, was possible. See Luke 1:35.
Matthew 1:21 She will bear a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.
God sent His Son because of His great love for each and every one of us.
Acts 4:12 and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.
