God's Sovereignty: Life of Joseph 3
Lesson 3: Joseph's Temptation
Big Idea God can help you say no to temptation.
There are many things in our world today to distract and discourage a child who believes on Jesus. God’s enemy, Satan, is alive and will bring things into the saved child’s life to tempt him and draw him away from God. Today’s growth narrative lesson is full of helps for the saved child who is facing temptation.
The memory verse reminds the child that God is greater than the enemy. God the Holy Spirit living in him can help him to say no to temptation and live a life pleasing to God.
The Gospel Spotlight is an object lesson designed to help the unsaved children see that their sin can only be forgiven through Jesus.
Children are encouraged that Jesus understands temptation because He was also tempted, yet He had victory over temptation. He can give them victory over temptation, too. Children should see the importance of reading the Bible and praying daily. Throughout the week, please remind your kid(s) to ask God for help to say no to temptations they face.
Remember, the God who lives in us is greater than our enemy, and He can use us to make a difference in the children.
Scripture Genesis 39:1-23
