Big Idea: Jesus can give you real joy by saving you from your sin.
Word Up! Jesus gives joy to the world!
Christmas is a time of joyous celebration for children around the world, but many have never heard the real reason to celebrate. Families exchange gifts and send Christmas cards filled with tidings of comfort and joy, but many don’t know the true source of comfort and joy. Long before the first Christmas, God gave the prophet Isaiah a loving message that would bring joy to people from every tribe, tongue, and nation! After showing Isaiah the terrible effects of sin that were ravaging the nations of the earth, God provided a glimpse of the promised Savior—the best news in the world! The Savior’s advent as a baby (Isaiah 7:14), His divine nature (Isaiah 9:6-7), His suffering and execution for our sins, (Isaiah 53:5-9), His resurrection (Isaiah 53:10), and His eventual reign as the eternal King (Isaiah 65:17, 25) were revealed by God to the astonished prophet! Even while the world was willfully going astray from God’s perfect ways, He reached out and sent a loving message of great joy for all people. A Christmas party is a incredible way to share the joy of Jesus with the children in your community! As you share the Gospel, pray that the children will marvel at God’s plan of redemption and believe that Jesus is the only source of Salvation and true joy
